Shalom Ilan, haveri! Thank you for thinking of me. We've had an ice and snow snow that came in last night and expect another tonight. My car door won't open. Frozen shut.
I would love to visit my beloved Land but probably can't for many reasons: I'm a poor white boy (I'm a poor fellow getting ready to sell my home and move with Mom and her boyfriend Doug to a nice home with my own bedroom in the country). And my AIDS doctors said I'll probably be dead and are in shock I'm not already and haven't gotten sick with infectious diseases. Blessed be God! What will be will be. I won't give up without a struggle.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Michigan - In 2010 God blessed THE Bible Study Web Site at BibleStudy.org with its best year in its fifteen-year history, reports full-time Webmaster and owner Alan Ruth.

In 2010 the site attracted 5,185,156 actual visitors, an increase of 30% above the previous year. These visitors requested 11,540,657 pages of Bible-based study materials, an incredible 31% above the previous year and the largest raw jump in study materials viewed (+2.7 Million) ever.

Hanukkah March of the Temple Mount Faithful — 2010/5771

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement will hold their traditional Hanukkah march on the first day of Tevet (Wednesday, December 8), beginning at 9:00 AM, Jerusalem time. Starting out in Modi'in, the ancient city of the Maccabees, the march will follow the route taken by the Maccabees as they defeated the mighty Greek army on their way to liberate the holy city of Jerusalem. Their main goal was to liberate Jerusalem, to purify the Temple from the pagan idols, and to once again make the city of Jerusalem the capital of the nation of Israel.
It was in Modi'in where the high priest Mattityahu started a revolt, together with his five sons and many volunteers from the Jewish people. With the help and the strength of the G‑d of Israel, through battle after battle they defeated the Greek empire. They were a small minority fighting against what was at the time the world's greatest military force. When the Greek soldiers asked for Mattityahu's help in getting the Jewish people to make a sacrifice on a pagan altar, he cried out, "G‑d forbid that we should forsake the law and the ordinances. We will not obey the king's commands to turn away from our religion, either on the right hand or the left" (1 Maccabees 2.21-22). And with that, he killed one of the Jewish traitors who was getting ready to offer a pagan sacrifice, just as Phinehas son of Eleazar son of Aaron the priest did to Zimri the son of Salu (Numbers 25.6-15). As he went throughout the city, Mattityahu cried out to the people of Israel, "Whosoever is zealous of the law and maintains the covenant, let him follow me!" (1 Maccabees 2.27). As he fought on and on, more and more Israelis joined with him and his sons. But they all knew that the real reason for their victories and the complete removal of the Greek empire from the land of Israel was that the G‑d of Israel had become the General and the Commander of the Maccabee's forces, and He does today with Israel, so He did with the Maccabees and gave them their great victories in their time of need.
By their bold actions, the Maccabees began a spiritual revolution within the Jewish community, spreading throughout the Land of Israel which was laid heavy under a strong influence of the Hellenistic pagan culture, placing it in grave danger of loosing its godly Jewish identity. By saving Israel's godly identity through this revolution, the Maccabees provided a lesson to all the coming generations of Israel that a small minority, even one person such as the high priest Mattityahu, can change the negative march of history so long as they trust in the G‑d of Israel, and follow the eternal Torah which He gave to Israel.
Since the origin of our movement, the Temple Mount Faithful Movement has considered itself to be as the Maccabees, and as the Joshua's and the Caleb's of our time we swore to adopt this lesson of the Maccabees. We swore faithfulness to G‑d and to His Word and we trust Him absolutely. Like the Maccabees, we are struggling for the liberation and purification of the Temple Mount, the hill of G‑d in Jerusalem, to immediately remove the Arab Islamic pagan presence from the most holy place of Israel -- the location of the First, Second and soon-to-come Third Temple.
On the seventh day of Hanukkah, Wednesday, 1 Tevet 5771 (December 8, 2010) the Temple Mount Faithful Movement will travel by bus to Modi'in, where we shall swear faithfulness to the godly heritage of the Maccabees. We will light the Hanukkah menorah and say for the ears of the whole world, "You will never take the land of Israel given by G‑d only to His people Israel and give it to foreigners and enemies of the G‑d and the people of Israel". We shall swear before G‑d to make the same Spiritual revolution that the Maccabees made in their time. It will be an exciting moment to stand on the same ground where the Maccabees stood, the ground of the ancient city of Modi'in. After lighting the torch of the Maccabees, we will run for part of the way following in the tracks of the Maccabees and their victories against the Greeks, on the mountains of Beit Horon. When we arrive at the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem we will demonstrate for the immediate removal of the Arab Islamic enemy from the Temple Mount. We will tell the leaders of the United States, the European Union, and the United Nations that they will not pressure us to stop building homes for the Jewish people on their ancient Land. We will stand against any false anti-godly plan to create a foreign Islamic terrorist state in the midst of the Land of the G‑d and the people of Israel. We shall call to everyone in the world -- and to all the leaders in Israel -- to take their hands away from the Land which belongs to G‑d, that Land which He gave to the people of Israel in an ancient, eternal covenant.
Our present era is reminiscent of the period of the ancient Maccabees, when Israel was controlled by the Greek Empire who prohibited Israel from attaining her divine mission of being a holy nation, a kingdom of priests and a light to the nations. Israel, who had sworn to commit herself to be faithful to the One True Living G‑d of Israel, immediately rejected the situation when the Greeks desecrated the Holy Temple of G‑d in Jerusalem and placed their own pagan idols inside the Holy of Holies of the Temple and forced the Israelites to accept a Hellenistic pagan faith and culture. The Israelites were determined to remain as servants 'only' to the G‑d of Israel and never to be slaves to pagan idolatries. The first book of the Maccabees reads as if it were written today. To all of those who devise evil plans to take Jerusalem from the G‑d and people of Israel, we answer today in the words of Nehemiah, the leader of Israel after the destruction of the First Temple and the redemption of Israel 2,526 years ago, who answered Geshem, the Arab and his companions:

"Then I answered them, and said to them, The G‑d of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build; but you have no portion, or right, or memorial, in Jerusalem." (Nehemiah 2:20)

To those who have devised plans to divide the Land of Israel, to give it to her sworn enemies, listen to what G‑d said through the prophet Joel more than 2,500 years ago:

"For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will enter into judgment with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and have divided up my land." (Joel 4:1-2/Christian Bible 3:1-2)

Jeremiah 10 condemns idolatry, both in the letter and in the spirit, whether a physical idol or an idolatrous tradition based upon HEATHEN CUSTOMS like the "Christmas tree" that history clearly exposes as pagan in origin. Those who adorn their Christmas trees and remain in denial about its pagan origin, who play deaf, dumb and blind to the facts, who attempt to dismiss or downplay how it's a heathen custom, are living a lie and shamefully reject the clear commandments of God that speak against such spiritual adultery, mixing and matching pagan error with biblical truth, and will suffer the consequences for being so dishonest and deceitful.

Pagan holidays like Christmas and pagan customs like Christmas trees are both abominations to God. True Christians shun both, we avoid them like the plague, because we love God more than idolatrous traditions of apostate men!

Eurabia: A Voice Cries Out in Defense of Europe's Heritage

With birthrates among traditional Europeans in decline while population growth in Europe's Muslim communities soars, one European voice asks whether Europe wants to preserve its cultural and religious identity. Will anyone listen before it's too late?

Members of Western democratic parliaments are known to voice concerns on issues beyond their own national borders. Topics like human rights, poverty, AIDS in the developing world and other issues sometimes echo from the halls of Congress, the British Parliament, Germany's Bundestag and elsewhere.

Perhaps the most memorable example of a member of parliament (MP) speaking out on a perceived danger abroad was British MP Winston Churchill during the 1930s. On numerous occasions Churchill warned his country of the danger it faced from the ascent of German dictator Adolf Hitler.
Though accused of "scaremongering," Churchill did not relent. When British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain was hailed as a hero on his return from his 1938 meeting in Munich with Hitler, proclaiming "peace in our time," Churchill predicted a future "day of reckoning." The rest of the story is history.
Flash forward to the present. For the last six years one Western European politician in particular has made it his mission in life to warn his own countrymen—and anyone else in Europe who will listen—about a threat staring Europe in the face within its own continental borders. The threat he perceives is the demise of Europe's traditional cultural and religious identity as a result of the gradual Islamization of Europe.
Who is he? He is Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch parliament and a vocal opponent of "Eurabia."

Who is Geert Wilders?

Many people may not recognize Geert Wilders' name. After all, the Netherlands is not one of the world's larger countries, and most people—even in Europe—do not follow the Dutch domestic political scene closely. Wilders, 47, was born in the city of Venlo on the Dutch-German border. He was raised a Roman Catholic but left the church on reaching adulthood. Despite leaving the Catholic Church, Wilders supports traditional Judeo-Christian values.
After completing his education, Wilders traveled to the Middle East, where he lived in Israel for a time and also visited some of the neighboring Arab countries. The impressions of Islam he took home from those visits have shaped his personal assessment, which he says is similar to the viewpoint of none other than Winston Churchill. As a young man, Churchill served as a soldier and war correspondent in the late 1890s in British India (in what is today Pakistan) and the Sudan.
Churchill summed up his perception of Islam's effects on its adherents: "The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist ... Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities—but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it."
He concluded: "No stronger retrograde force exists in the world" (The River War, 1899).
Wilders, at the beginning of his political career, worked as a speechwriter for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). He moved to Utrecht in 1996 and was elected to the city council and in 2002 to the lower house of the Dutch parliament. Wilders had problems with his party's position on admitting Turkey as a member of the European Union, leading him to form his own party in 2004, now called the Party for Freedom (PVV).
EU membership for Turkey would eventually mean more Muslims living elsewhere in Europe, although Wilders already sees Europe's cultural and religious heritage threatened by the continent's current Muslim population. Wilders points out that 100 years ago there were fewer than 100 Muslims living in the Netherlands, compared to nearly 1 million today out of a total Dutch population of some 16 million.
Wilders pulls no punches about his desire to see limits placed on the influence of Islam in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. He is against the use of any language but Dutch in mosques located in the Netherlands—so that others will know what is said in them and as a check against imams feigning peace and goodwill to the outside world while inciting hatred and violence among Muslim congregants. He also opposes the construction of new mosques in his country.

Speaking in the Dutch parliament, he once said that the Koran should be banned in the Netherlands, adding that if Islam's holy book were to be stripped of passages proclaiming violence, it would be reduced to the size of a comic book.
With this opinion, Wilders is on the same page as Pope Benedict XVI. In a speech given in Regensburg in September 2006, Benedict quoted a medieval Christian emperor who equated Islam with violence: "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."
Accused of being a racist, Wilders counters by saying that he does not hate Muslims. Instead, he just hates Islam. On his own blog, Wilders summarizes that viewpoint:
"The purpose of Islam is the total submission of oneself and others to the unknowable Allah, whom we must serve through total obedience to Muhammad as leader of the Islamic state (suras 3:31, 4:80, 24:62, 48:10, 57:28). And history has taught us that Muhammad was not at all a prophet of love and compassion, but a mass murderer, a tyrant and a pedophile. Muslims could not have a more deplorable role model."

Growing popularity and power

Geert Wilders is typically characterized by the mainstream media as being a right-wing populist, an anti-Muslim agitator or xenophobic. And yet twice in annual public opinion surveys he was rated the second-most popular politician in the Netherlands.
In parliamentary elections of June 2010, Wilders' party won 24 of the 150 seats in the lower house, a remarkable increase over its previous result of nine seats in 2006. Wilders has agreed to support a minority coalition government formed by two other conservative parties, which will give him considerable leverage in the new government.

Wilders has had to pay a price for his stance on Islam, however. He has received numerous death threats and has been constantly accompanied by six bodyguards since a letter threatening his death was found in the apartment of the Islamic fanatic who assassinated Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh in broad daylight on a street in Amsterdam in November 2004. The bodyguards "stand outside the door when I go to the bathroom," he once said.

Wilders never sleeps two nights in a row in the same location. Because of these security restrictions, he is able to see his wife only once every two weeks. He has described his life as "essentially living in a prison."

Muslim population growth in Europe

Wilders sees the increasing Muslim population in Europe as one of the most serious threats to the preservation of Europe's traditional cultural and religious heritage. It comes as no surprise that he opposes continued immigration from Islamic countries and Turkey's bid for full EU membership, which would eventually open Europe's gates to unrestricted Turkish immigration.
Muslims currently account for about 5 percent of the European Union's population. If Turkey's bid for EU membership is successful, on the day Turkey becomes a member the percentage of Muslims living in the EU will increase to 20 percent. But current population numbers are only part of the story. Turkey would also soon be the EU's largest country. Based on current population trends, Turkey will surpass Germany's 82 million inhabitants by the year 2020 and may have as many as 100 million people by the year 2050.

However, even if Turkey does not become a full member of the European Union, the percentage of Muslims living in Europe will still double within 15 years. Europe's Islamic community is experiencing a population explosion. At the same time, the traditional non-Muslim population of Europe will decline by an estimated 3.5 percent. Europe's traditional non-Islamic population is slowly but surely dying out.
Germany's birthrate is a prime example of the population decline among Europe's traditional nationalities. Statistically each woman in Germany currently has 1.36 live births during her childbearing years, far below the 2.1 average considered necessary to maintain a country's population. Given current trends, the research by the private Institute for Population and Development in Berlin indicates that the number of children born in Germany will drop 50 percent by the year 2050.
The declining birthrate is most acute in the former East Germany, where the average birthrate since the reunification of Germany in 1990 is 0.77 live births. Reiner Klingholz, the director of the private Berlin Institute for Population and Development, summarized the situation with some humor: "With the Vatican as the exception, that's the lowest birthrate anywhere in the world."
If this situation continues unhindered, it is only a matter of time before the Islamic community in Europe becomes a sizable minority and even a majority of Europe's total population. In 2005, for example, there were more children of Islamic parentage born in France than people of a traditional French background.
Although not directly related to Europe's declining birthrate, it's also interesting to note that the number of Europeans who profess to be Christians has declined noticeably in the last 100 years. In 1900 approximately 95 percent of Europeans claimed to be Christian. At the beginning of the 21st century that percentage had dropped to 75 percent, with a sharp increase in the decline just in the last 25 years.

For example, since 1980 the population segment that identifies itself as Christian in Belgium declined by 20 percent; in the Netherlands, by 18 percent; and in France, by 16 percent. Today's Europe is also the only continent witnessing a decline in the number of Catholics. The annual number of infant baptisms in the Philippines is now more than the combined annual total for France, Italy, Poland and Spain.

If present trends continue, Europe will slowly become what Geert Wilders calls "Eurabia," a continent whose traditional heritage becomes drowned out by a fast-growing Muslim community—now a minority, but possibly a majority of Europe's population in the future.

Europe's religious future

Bible prophecy shows that Europe's traditional religious heritage will wield considerable influence in the future, but in a way not imagined by Dutch MP Geert Wilders. The book of Revelation contains a prophecy about 10 "kings" or leaders who collectively form a new geopolitical superpower called "the beast," which Jesus Christ will conquer and destroy at His return to the earth.

We read about them in Revelation 17:12-14: "The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour [a short time] as kings with the beast ... These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them" (emphasis added).
Those 10 horns are part of a "beast" described in verse 3 as having "seven heads and ten horns," with the 10 horns—the final 10 leaders who will fight against Christ—apparently representing one of the seven heads. Each of the seven heads is a "mountain"—biblical symbolism for a kingdom or empire—with its king (verses 9-10). Verse 10 clarifies that the heads appear in chronological sequence, and the final "head," or king (verse 10), will appear as the 10 kings symbolized by 10 horns (verse 12).
This sequence of rulers is dominated by a religious system called "Babylon the Great," which emanates from "the great harlot [city] who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication" (Revelation 17:1-2). The true Church of God, in contrast, is pictured in the Bible as a chaste bride waiting to be married to Christ. The harlot of Revelation 17 is a deceptive religious system masquerading as a true system of worship.

As the modern heir of ancient Babylon's mystery religion, it is the city of Rome that is described as being "drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus" (Revelation 17:6). It's a historical fact that Rome, more than any other city, under the influence of a great religious system, has orchestrated the persecution and martyrdom of "those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12).

Pictured as a harlot sitting astride the "beast" of which she is the cultural and spiritual center, this infamous city has exerted a vast influence over the earth's "peoples, multitudes, nations and languages" (Revelation 17:15, New International Version). For a while she has enjoyed the status and fame of being the city that "reigns over the kings of the earth" (verse 18).

In other words, it appears that the composite "beast" of Revelation 17 is the so-called Holy Roman Empire—the resurrected Roman Empire dominated by the modern descendant of the ancient Babylonian mystery religion. The final resurrection of that empire will be predominantly influenced not by Islam, but by the same religious system that has dominated it since Emperor Justinian I initiated his restoration of the Roman Empire in A.D. 554.

Geert Wilders and Europe's future

While no one can predict what course Geert Wilders' political future may take, it is interesting that his position on Muslim population growth in Europe is consistent with Bible prophecy.
Islam has never been the religion of the Holy Roman Empire, nor will it be in the future. Since the "great harlot" of Revelation 17 is pictured as continually being the dominant influence on the "beast" system, the Islamic minority in Europe apparently will not grow to such an extent that it will prevent the traditional religious system of the Holy Roman Empire from exerting its influence in the end-time "beast" power.
But the growth of this minority and a rise in Muslim terrorism could well set off a backlash among traditional Europeans, providing impetus for their returning to their Roman religious and cultural heritage.
With the fast-growing Islamic minority in Europe, what are the implications for Europe's future when it comes to Europe's Islamic community and Islamic immigration?

There would appear to be several possibilities—all of which could be listed as action points for Geert Wilders' Party for Freedom. They include the following:

• Immigration from non-EU, Islamic countries may be restricted at some point in the future.
• Residency for some—perhaps a majority of—non-EU Islamic people living in Europe may be revoked at some point in the future.
In the current liberal atmosphere in Europe, restricting immigration for people of the Islamic faith, or even deporting some of those who are already here, seems unlikely. However, the violent reaction in the Netherlands to the murder in broad daylight of Dutch movie producer Theo van Gogh by a Moroccan in November 2004 shows what can happen in a tense confrontation. Any restrictions placed on immigration from Islamic countries would certainly strain relations between the European Union and the Islamic world.
Meanwhile, Wilders continues his efforts to preserve Europe's heritage from Islamic influence. In July he announced an international "freedom alliance" to spread his anti-Islamist message across the West.
He told the Associated Press in an interview that he will launch the international movement later this year, initially in five countries—the United States, Canada, Britain, France and Germany. This "is not just a Dutch problem..., it is a problem for the entire free West," he said.

With his effort to defend Europe's traditional heritage against growing Islamic influence, Geert Wilders is a man to watch. He would no doubt be surprised to learn what kind of resurgence of traditional religious fervor actually lies in Europe's future.

Despite the current demographic trends in Europe, Bible prophecy indicates that the dominant religious influence on the final resurrection of the Roman Empire will not be Islam. Instead, it will be the same one that has existed for centuries in previous revivals of the Holy Roman Empire—that of "Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth" (Revelation 17:5).
With the Muslim population explosion in Europe, the final configuration of that last resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire may appear on the world scene sooner than some people think. For it seems it would need to come before Europeans of traditional heritage are reduced to a minority in Europe—a demographic change that, if trends continue as they are, would be on us in quite a short period of time. Perhaps you've heard the claims: Were it not for the genius and energy of African-American inventors, we might find ourselves in a world without traffic lights, peanut butter, blood banks, light bulb filaments, and a vast number of other things we now take for granted but could hardly imagine life without.

Such beliefs usually originate in books or articles about black history. Since many of the authors have little interest in the history of technology outside of advertising black contributions to it, their stories tend to be fraught with misunderstandings, wishful thinking, or fanciful embellishments with no historical basis. The lack of historical perspective leads to extravagant overestimations of originality and importance: sometimes a slightly modified version of a pre-existing piece of technology is mistaken for the first invention of its type; sometimes a patent or innovation with little or no lasting value is portrayed as a major advance, even if there's no real evidence it was ever used.

Unfortunately, some of the errors and exaggerations have acquired an illusion of credibility by repetition in mainstream outlets, especially during Black History Month (see examples for the traffic light and ironing board). When myths go unchallenged for too long, they begin to eclipse the truth. Thus I decided to put some records straight. Although this page does not cover every dubious invention claim floating around out there, it should at least serve as a warning never to take any such claim for granted.

Each item below is listed with its supposed black originator beneath it along with the year it was supposedly invented, followed by something about the real origin of the invention or at least an earlier instance of it.

Something's missing. Rome is synonymous with the Vatican, Mecca with the Kaaba, and Jerusalem's known for its Western Wall. But why should we stand before the wall, letting it obstruct our vision, when we could be praying in a Temple? Why should Jews continue to bow before an illegitimate Gentile decree that tells them where to pray? (Isaiah 10:1).

A Jewish man in his 30s, who took advantage of the holiday of Sukkot in order to visit the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, was arrested on Sunday morning simply because an Arab security guard suspected that he was praying during the tour of the complex.

David Ha'ivri, Executive Director of the Shomron Liaison Office, who was on the scene of the incident, told Arutz 7 what had taken place:

“At 7:30 this morning I had the privilege of going up to Temple Mount with 20 other Jews,” said Ha’Ivri and added that Israeli police officers as well as inspectors from the Waqf accompanied the Jews who took part in the tour of the area. Among their responsibilities, explained Ha’Ivri, is to ensure that no Jew violates the instructions he receives upon entering the complex, which include a prohibition to pray at Judaism's holiest site.

“After the checkpoint at the Mugrabi Gate, a police officer gives a list of guidelines in a cold and dry voice,” described Ha’Ivri. “Do not pray. Do not tear a garment. Do not prostrate yourself. It is forbidden to take any action that the Muslims may see as a religious act.

           To further simplify matters, we will not interrupt the lesson with references. They appear after the article text.
           We begin with the run-up to a conference in Washington to make peace in the Middle East. This was no smalltime conference. The participants were the leaders of Israel, Egypt, Jordan and a fellow who claims to represent the Palestinians.
           On August 30, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak met Jordanian King Abdullah. The aftermath came quickly. The very next day, there was a slaughter of Israelis outside Hebron. This occurred the night before PM Netanyahu flew to Washington, a high alert day for the Israeli army. Yet no patrols were on the road to stop the massacre; and the usual government-run uglies, Ben Gvir and Marzel were first on the scene demanding that every Israeli, including women and children, be armed. Any public sympathy for the deceased disappeared after that. What remained was a warning to Israel: Here's your fate if you don't sign on for "peace." Thanks Ehud.
           And on the same day, Barak announced to Ha'aretz that he, a government minister, was in favor of dividing Jerusalem and that PM Netanyahu was the man to do it. The message: the deed has been agreed to by the government.
           Also, on the same day, Pres. Mubarak and French Pres. Sarkozy met to discuss the European goals of the "peace" talks. France and Egypt are the co-chairs of the Mediterranean Union, a Vatican invention supposedly started by King Juan Carlos of Spain. The MU has promised to bring peace to the Middle East their way at its Barcelona Conference on November 20 and they had Mubarak in Washington to make sure of it.
           But they also had their spy Pres. Shimon Peres there as well by Skype. He told the reporters that he was going to meet the pope to arrange the release of Hamas-held, or
Hamas--dead soldier Gilad Shalit. Like the pope could care less, but the dumbed Israelis bought the lie.
          At the conference, and without asking the Jewish sacrificial lambs, Netanyahu offered the PLO the opportunity to inherit all the settlers, who, naturally would be given Palestinian citizenship. An even better idea was offered by NSA director James Jones (CFR), and one Abbas loved. He would arrange permanent NATO troops stationed along the new borders. Overseeing the transition would be old CFR hack George Mitchell who already booked his ticket for Jerusalem.
          And so the conference ended with the prospect of a new Middle East with a divided Jerusalem, Palestinian-Jewish settlers and NATO troops all aboard for the Nov.20 conference in Barcelona.

         On Sept. 11, I was planning to go to Gainesville, an hour away, to see some Korans burned. It promised to be an international media carnival. But the CFR ruined it for me.
Somehow koran-burning pastor Terry Jones believed he was going to a cut deal with the imam of the ground zero mosque to move it if he cancelled the book burning. Then, from the CFR's tv conference room came two interviews in a few days; the first from Secretary of State Clinton (husband CFR) condemning Jones, then, lo and behold, from Imam Feisel Rauf who thought the koran burning was a really bad idea. The CFR is so convinced it has pulled the wool over everyone's eyes that they openly revealed that they controlled Rauf and arranged payment to make him a world figure. The CFR ran the whole ground zero mosque controversy, while the public thought everything about it was random. In the end, Defense Secretary Robert Gates (CFR) threatened Jones scarily enough that he hauled ass out of Gainesville and will never be heard of again.

Are We CURSING Our Land?

Today we have severe drought in some areas -- unexpected floods in others. It has not always been this way. Why the change? Read who is responsible!

LARGE portions of the United States, Australia, South Africa, which were once productive, are now drought stricken or ravaged by floods. Streams and springs are drying up in many areas! Much of the topsoil is eroding. Hurricanes are sweeping inland farther, and with greater frequency, than ever before!

Why all this distress? Is it a NATURALLY CAUSED situation which can be explained away? OR IS IT PUNISHMENT FOR SIN?

If it is punishment, for whose sin are YOU being punished?

Here certainly is a question not only our brethren on the farm need to understand, but all of us everywhere!

Why Climatic Rampage?

Here is the answer --

When God gave Israel the law in Mount Sinai, He told them to cultivate the land and harvest its fruit for six years (Ex. 23:10-11). But He also included this little-known, though vitally important statute: "THE SEVENTH YEAR YOU SHALL LET IT REST AND LIE STILL ... In like manner shall you deal with your vineyard and your oliveyard."

God made this law a part of His overall law of love. He knows that the land needs a rest every seventh year.

God did not say, "Do it if you WANT to." He made it a definite command FOR OUR OWN GOOD!

But why the increase in floods, in drought, in blowing topsoil and in tornadoes? And why the coming war and captivity of this whole people? What have the people done to merit such devastation?

Let Leviticus 26:34-35 tell us. "Then [in the near future] shall the land enjoy her sabbaths AS LONG AS IT LIES DESOLATE, AND YOU BE IN YOUR ENEMIES' LAND; then shall the land rest, AND ENJOY HER SABBATHS. As long as it lies desolate it shall rest; BECAUSE IT DID NOT REST IN YOUR SABBATHS, WHEN YOU DWELT UPON IT."

It is all very clear. The land becomes desolate BECAUSE IT HAS NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO REST AND KEEP ITS SABBATHS!

Some who call themselves Christians show a great lack of concern for God's sabbatical year. Does THAT show an attitude of SUBMISSION? No, it typifies the indifference of this modern age!

Don't think for a minute that you are on a band wagon with an easy ticket into the Kingdom of God. YOU MUST OBEY GOD! Otherwise you will suffer with the nation when it pays in full for its sins.

In the Scriptures God isn't speaking just to your neighbor. HE IS SPEAKING TO YOU!

God's Conditional Promises

Are you occasionally plagued by disease among your livestock, by insect pest, or by drought? If so, you may have been neglecting to DESERVE God's promised blessings. God promises the obedient that He will "... satisfy your soul in drought ... and you shall be like an irrigated garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not" (Isa. 58:11).

God commands us, in Exodus 23:25-26, "And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land."

Again, in II Chronicles 7:13-14 God promised us, "When I shut up the heavens that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, IF My PEOPLE [Christians today] who are called by My NAME HUMBLE THEMSELVES and PRAY and SEEK My face, and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and HEAL their land."

There it is! God's people must obey God -- and that includes the keeping of the Sabbath year. Now is the time we need to learn TO PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER, "Casting all your cares upon Him; for He cares for you" (I Pet. 5:7).

Punishment for Disobedience

Notice what happened once before when the people refused to obey this law. We have a record of this in II Chronicles 36:20-21: "And them that had escaped from the sword carried he [Nebuchadnezzar] away to Babylon; where they were servants of him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: TO FULFILL THE WORD of the Eternal by the mouth of Jeremiah, UNTIL THE LAND HAD ENJOYED HER SABBATHS: for as long as she [the land] lay desolate SHE KEPT SABBATH, to fulfill threescore and ten years." Every sabbatical year unkept meant a year in captivity for Judah! God's corrective measures are sure -- Israel, too, WILL be desolate and the land will soon ENJOY her Sabbaths because the people refuse to turn to God and keep His sabbatical years.

God warned Israel in Leviticus 26:14-35 what would happen IF THEY DISOBEYED this law. Israel was to receive severe punishments in four progressively worsening stages unless the nation repented.

Some have thought this prophecy apples only to Israel's first punishment, and isn't for us today. They quote verse 22: "I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you FEW in number; and your ways [roads] shall be desolate."

Those who are scoffers will say, "That is no concern of ours: there are not enough wild beasts in this nation to do any serious damage." Don't you believe it! We are already getting a foretaste of this condition. Rabies and other diseases that are spread by animals are becoming increasingly more destructive, especially to our children. A typical report which illustrates this point is the following news item from Toronto, Ontario, Canada: "Red foxes are bringing an EPIDEMIC OF RABIES into heavily populated southern Ontario ... SCHOOL CHILDREN in Grey County recently began carrying clubs while waiting for school busses after one girl drove off an attacking fox ... Anti-rabies vaccine has been given to 400 persons so far this year, compared to 200 for ALL 1957 ... CATTLE have been hit by the disease" (quoted from the "Dallas Times Herald," Nov. 1, 1958).

Besides the rabies that is being spread far and wide by foxes, skunks, mice, bats, and dogs, there are many more diseases that are bringing great destruction to our children and cattle. Diseases, however, are not the only source of trouble from animals. Man has so abused his natural surroundings that wildlife populations and their food supplies are becoming unbalanced. When a species becomes too numerous, or its natural food supply runs low, it is likely to cause abnormal destruction due to sheer hunger madness. Consider the following report from TRUE MAGAZINE, March, 1960:

"There are twice as many rats in the world as people -- about five billion (400 million rats in the U. S.). EVERY 12TH FARM IN THE WORLD PRODUCES FOOD ONLY TO FEED RATS; a total of about two million average sized modern farms! ..." Wild animals are destined to become even more destructive THROUGHOUT the world BECAUSE MEN HAVE SEVERELY ABUSED THE LAND.

How to Keep the Sabbath Year

We know that "all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in RIGHTEOUSNESS" (II Tim. 3:16). We know also that we are COMMANDED to keep the Sabbath year and that "ALL {GOD'S} COMMANDMENTS are RIGHTEOUSNESS (Ps. 119:172)." Therefore let us look into the Scriptures for instruction in the keeping of the Sabbath year.

God's instructions, in Leviticus 25:3-7, for the Sabbath year are very thorough and complete and are easily understood. [I quote from the Moffatt translation here because it is more easily understood than is the King James Version. The meaning, however, is identical in both].

"For six years you may sow your field, for six years you may prune your vineyard, and gather in the produce; but the seventh year shall be a Sabbath of ENTIRE rest FOR THE LAND, a Sabbath in honor of the Eternal, on which you must neither sow a field nor prune a vineyard, on which you must not even gather the after growth of your harvest nor grapes from your undressed vines honor of the Eternal, on which you must neither sow a field nor prune a vineyard, on which you must not even gather the after growth of your harvest nor grapes from your undressed vines produce of the land shall serve as food for you, for yourself and your slaves, male and female, for your hired servant and any outsiders staying with you, furnishing food also for your cattle and livestock!

READ THESE VERSES AGAIN VERY CAREFULLY. THEY ARE IMPORTANT. Notice that the sabbatical year is a year of ENTIRE rest FOR THE LAND. Verse five tells you that you must not gather your crops or fruit for commercial use or to store up in that year. They must, in general, be allowed to return to the soil. Yet verse six tells you that the NATURAL produce of the land -- that which grows voluntarily -- in the sabbatical year shall serve as food for you, your servants, and strangers or guests that are with you.

Some people are temporarily confused when reading these two verses, thinking YOU must not harvest the produce of the land in order to sell it. Neither are you to store up the produce of the Sabbath year for future use. You may use the voluntary produce for day-to-day needs. God wants you to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables when they are in season, even in the Sabbath year.

The natural produce of the land in that year will also furnish food for your cattle and other livestock which may graze on the land (verse 7). This clearly shows that it is permissible to allow cattle to graze the fields in addition to the pasture in the Sabbath year. To take advantage of this liberty it is permissible to allow your cattle herd to increase while they are grazing the whole farm. One man, WHO DID NOT STUDY THESE SCRIPTURES, mistakenly assumed he should sell all of his cattle the Sabbath year!

Definite proof that we should not plant a garden in our sabbatical year, nor harvest or can its produce, is found in Leviticus 25:20-21: "And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow nor gather in our increase ..." Notice that God is making provision for those who will be concerned about what they are going to eat during the year in which their land is resting. If we could plant a vegetable garden in the sabbatical year, no one would wonder where his food is coming from, because a well-managed garden can be depended upon to provide an abundance of fresh food. Under such a condition, there would be no test of the faith of the individual.

God's Blessings Promised

Some are sure to say, "How can we make a living in the Sabbath year? A little fresh fruit and vegetables will not support my family. I need a cash crop. I THINK God wants us to use our minds and learn to draw our own conclusions; and I THINK we should let one-seventh of the farm lie idle each year." This looks good to the natural reasoning of some people, but WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT IT?

God DOES want you to use your minds. And if you use them properly, you will come to the conclusion that EVERYONE must learn God's point of view and live by it. The only other recourse is to follow human reasoning, independent of the Scriptures, which leads only to heartaches, sorrows, and wretchedness. Therefore, let us turn to God's Word so that He will tell us HOW to keep the Sabbath year.

God tells us in Leviticus 25:20-22, "And if you shall say, 'What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase.' Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year; and it shall bring forth produce for three years. And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old produce until the ninth year; until her produce comes in you shall eat of the old produce."

There you see a definite command that one particular year should be set aside in which the WHOLE FARM should rest by being uncultivated. Also you see a VERY DISTINCT PROMISE that God will so abundantly bless you in the sixth year that your produce will last until the fall crops are harvested in the end of the eighth year to give you food for the ninth year.

You should be diligent in your work, but not overly concerned with such matters as your physical needs, because there is very little that YOU can do about it. MAKING YOUR CROPS GROW IS ONE OF GOD'S JOBS. Strive for greater spiritual growth and God will supply your needs. "For your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask Him" (Mat. 6:8).

"Take no thought, saying, 'What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed?' -- for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you" (Mat. 6:25-34).

What about shrubbery and flowers? How should you care for them in the Sabbath year? The answer is that you should keep the house and its surroundings neat with whatever lawn and hedge trimming may be necessary. God would not want you to let your home become run-down and dilapidated looking. The law of the sabbatical year involves ONLY THAT LAND FROM WHICH CROPS ARE HARVESTED, REMOVED, SOLD OR STORED. It does not include your pasture or the lawn, shrubbery, and flowers around your home.

How to Figure Your Sabbath Year

The Sabbath year is counted according to the Old Testament from about one Feast of Tabernacles to the next, beginning and ending in the autumn of the year. In ancient Israel the sabbatical years included the Jubilee every 50th year. The Jubilee is reckoned ONLY WHEN THERE IS A GOD-GIVEN PERMANENT INHERITANCE.

After the Jews returned from captivity under Ezra and Nehemiah they were not given any permanent inheritance. Therefore God did not require them to keep a jubilee -- but only the sabbatical years every seventh year.

After the Jews returned from the Babylonian captivity they reckoned sabbatical years, without Jubilees, from the time they REOCCUPIED the land. WE ARE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION TODAY.

We have no permanent inheritance. It is apparent that God intends us to use a personal, and not a national, system. YOUR SABBATH YEAR WOULD BE THE SEVENTH YEAR from the time that this knowledge comes to you -- or from YOUR CONVERSION, COUNTED FROM ONE FEAST OF TABERNACLES TO THE NEXT. Count the year of your conversion as your first year if it is more than half a year.

Is This Your Problem?

Someone is sure to ask, "Should renters, as well as landowners, keep the Sabbath year?" The answer is an emphatic "yes."

There may be landowners who will not allow their renters to let the whole land rest for a year. Renters do not have the authority to force the issue in this case but must submit to the demands of the owner. In this case the renter should let a portion rest each year until it has all rested. Through this method the land will at least have its recuperative rest.

The exact year that the land rests is not of primary importance because CHRISTIANS ARE NOT NOW AN ORGANIZED COMMUNITY. THEY DO NOT ALL HAVE THE SAME SABBATH YEAR ANYWAY.

Since renters do not own the land, they must not insist that the owners obey God. Instead, they may have to find, work and a farm elsewhere.

Actually, all land renters who are obeying God should, AFTER WISE COUNSEL, aim to become landowners so that they will have full authority to farm according to God's principles. (But don't buy a farm in a drought-stricken area!)

If you are obeying God, you, like Abraham, must be willing to leave the locality in which your ancestors lived. But BEFORE you move into a new area, MAKE SURE YOU CAN MAKE A LIVING THERE. God is not obligated to supply your needs if you move into a desolate, drought-stricken area, or if you grow up in such an area and stay there. You should start your farming venture in an area that is not yet suffering.

Then, AFTER YOU HAVE FULFILLED YOUR NORMAL OBLIGATIONS AND ARE OBEYING AND TRUSTING GOD TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY, GOD WILL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS! Of this, you have His SURE PROMISE in Deuteronomy 28:1-6, 11-12 and Matthew 6:25-34. Read these scriptures carefully.

Land Left Fallow Every 2nd or 3rd Year?

There may arise the question, "What should be done with land that is already being left idle every second, third, or fourth year? How should it be handled in order to conform to God's Sabbath year?

Three general types of land are being managed in this manner. The first type to be considered is GOOD, PRODUCTIVE LAND that is periodically being left idle, usually being seeded to a winter legume or other soil builder. Such a practice builds the soil up to a richer, more productive capacity and should in no way be discouraged. However, this should be IN ADDITION to the sabbatical rest.

In some Plains States areas there is fertile soil that must be SUMMER FALLOWED every other year because it receives so little rainfall that it will not produce yearly crops. In such an area, it would be permissible to summer fallow in a sabbatical year so that the land will not be sapped of all its surface water, which is needed for the following year's crop. Some in dry areas have not summer fallowed their land, letting weeds grow to maturity. They did not raise a crop in the eighth year. But in each succeeding year the production has steadily increased WELL BEYOND ANY PREVIOUS YEARLY AVERAGE.

If you were to summer fallow during your sabbatical year, you should allow some growth to spring up, but disk it into the soil while it is young and tender enough to decompose rapidly. In the Jewish translation of the Old Testament, the word "rest" is translated by "lie fallow."

Another grade of soil is occasionally left idle because it is too poor to produce crops any more often. Such soil is gradually wasting away and is so thin that it should not be cultivated in the first place. Rather, it ought to be seeded to a good pasture grass AND TURNED INTO PERMANENT PASTURE.

It is VITALLY IMPORTANT, however, that you DO NOT OVERGRAZE YOUR LAND! One cause of the present distress in our Western states is that much of the land has been overgrazed in the interest of TEMPORARY higher profits.

If too many cattle are on the land they will nibble the grass SO SHORT that it will afford no PROTECTIVE COVERING for the soil. The land will then dry up -- the grass will starve -- the topsoil will be blown away.

Some land is overgrazed even under the best grazing arrangement. Such land has already been worn out and should be left to nature so that shrubs and trees may take over and enrich the soil and, at the same time, produce a tree crop for future generations. Do not think of PRESENT PROFITS ONLY. Think of future generations who will reclaim this land after the captivity -- after the land shall have kept its Sabbaths.

What Work Should One Do in the Sabbath Year?

Some will want to know, "What should I do on the Sabbath year? I know I shouldn't become idle. Should I get a job in town?"

Considering the purpose of the Sabbath year, you should not get a job UNTIL YOU HAVE PUT YOUR FARM IN GOOD REPAIR. The Sabbath year does for your land what the Sabbath day does for your physical body. One rejuvenates the physical body; the other rejuvenates and improves the land. Surely you have buildings and fences that need repairing. Do you need new fences? Then build them. Digging post holes will not be a violation of the principle of letting the land rest. The Sabbath year is A SABBATH FOR THE LAND. It's the year you work for the land instead of the land working for you.

Possibly your home needs remodeling and painting. Take time to renovate it thoroughly in your seventh year. That will be the best opportunity you will have to make of it the kind of home you want. Overhaul or repair all of your machinery -- make sure that everything is in good condition before the beginning of the eighth year.

After all this is accomplished, why not take an EDUCATIONAL VACATION? Go to the cities' libraries and museums to study and broaden your understanding of the world around you. You might also visit some of the nation's beautiful parks or attend concerts that would be inaccessible in the other six years.

When you have done all of these things that you CAN AFFORD -- go ahead and set a job for the remainder of the year! IT IS GOOD TO STAY BUSY, and the extra money can certainly be useful.

Trust God

Remember that the Sabbath year is a time for rejoicing, created for the benefit of man. If you OBEY God and TRUST Him, in FAITH, He will fully supply all your needs. In Deuteronomy 11:13-15 God promises you that if you OBEY Him, He will send you rain at the right season so that your fields will produce abundant crops and your pastures plenty of grass "... that you may eat and be satisfied."

Do you think it would be difficult for God to punish the nation WITHOUT INJURING YOU? Turn to Psalm 91:7-10 and read God's answer to this question: "A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Eternal, who is my refuge, and the Most High, your habitation; there shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling."

Turn to Amos 4:7, also, and read: "I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered." This definitely PROVES that God can give YOU rain while your neighbor suffers from drought. If you doubt that this refers to our day, read carefully verses 6-12. The statement, "Prepare to meet your God, O Israel" at the end of verse 12 shows that this Scripture is for our day -- just before the return of Christ.

Could you want stronger promises? What could be stronger than these assurances taken directly from God's inspired word? Do you believe God? If you do not, you have a very wretched life ahead of you! Anyone can see that conditions are worsening the world over. Human scheming certainly cannot save you from the rapidly approaching chaos and ruin. Are you going to continue disobeying God like the world around you and suffer for it? Or will you OBEY Him so that He can heap HIS BLESSINGS upon you?

Mankind continues its Satanically inspired quest to -- unwittingly in some cases -- support Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche’s claim that “God is dead.” Others are saying that God, in the form of Jesus Christ, anyway, never existed -- while some even slander the Son of God openly, and pop culture is latching on, “hook, line, and sinker.”

A documentary movie titled, “The God Who Wasn’t There,” has recently been released. It’s not only an attack on Christianity; it’s a full-scale war against the idea that Jesus Christ even existed. It’s designed to undermine the faith of those who believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth was real, that He walked the earth as a human being, and that He gave His life for the sins of mankind.

The movie’s producers say that the story of Christ’s life fits the ancient mold of “the hero pattern,” which they also identify in many other belief systems. And they present other common criticisms of the Bible and its concepts and tenets. Promotional text on the movie’s website proclaims:

The taboo-shattering documentary that Newsweek says, “irreverently lays out the case that Jesus Christ never existed.”

If we haven’t already, we all need to begin the quest to answer the ultimate question, “Does God exist?” Reading the booklet The Real God: Proofs and Promises is an excellent place to start.

There are others who, while not denying Jesus’ existence, terribly distort who and what He is. In a Parade Magazine interview, February 17, 2010, the pop singer Elton John said:

I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel...

The better question might be: What brings a person to this depth of blasphemy and lack of biblical understanding in his mind?

The thought of Christ being homosexual is not even worth commenting on, it is so ludicrous. But, because some say that Christ never spoke directly against homosexuality, I feel compelled to address the issue. Christ was the God of the Old Testament (1 Corinthians 10:1-4) and condemned homosexuality (Leviticus 18:22). We need to prove these things for ourselves... we are without question living in the end times, and time is short. Elton John’s comments are indicative of the depravity of this society.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 states:

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Elton John is slinging blasphemous mud at Jesus Christ, the Savior of all mankind. But who really is behind all this? There is a spirit war going on and Satan, the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2), continues to step up his game in deceiving society (Revelation 12:9). He is the real culprit, instilling doubt and cynicism at an unprecedented worldwide scale. We have to be ready; we must be prepared to combat in our own minds these onslaughts against the Bible, and against the very concept of Christ Himself.

Naysayers are launching an all-out attack on Christ, and railing blasphemous statements against Him. How much do we need God’s Kingdom, ruled by Jesus Christ, to come? He will, without question, set these matters straight!

Iraq - An End or an Escalation?

Amid much fanfare last week, the last supposed “combat” troops left Iraq as the administration touted the beginning of the end of the Iraq War and a change in the role of the United States in that country. Considering the continued public frustration with the war effort, and with the growing laundry list of broken promises, this was merely another one of the administration’s operations in political maneuvering and semantics in order to convince an increasingly war-weary public that the Iraq War is at last ending. However, military officials confirm that we are committed to intervention in that country for years to come, and our operations have in fact, changed minimally, if really at all.

After eight long draining years, I have to wonder if our government even understands what it is to end a war anymore. The end of a war, to most people, means all the troops come home, out of harm’s way. It means we stop killing people and getting killed. It means we stop sending troops and armed personnel over and draining our treasury for military operations in that foreign land. But much like the infamous “mission accomplished” moment of the last administration, this “end” of the war also means none of those things.

50,000 US troops remain in Iraq, and they are still receiving combat pay. One soldier was killed in Basra just last Sunday, after the supposed end of combat operations, and the same day 5,000 men and women of the 3^rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood were deployed to Iraq. Their mission will be anything but desk duty. Among other things they will accompany the Iraqi military on dangerous patrols, continue to be involved in the hunt for terrorists, and provide air support for the Iraqi military. They should be receiving combat pay, because they will be serving a combat role!

Of course the number of private contractors - who perform many of the same roles as troops, but for a lot more money - is expected to double. So this is a funny way of ending combat operations in Iraq. We are still meddling in their affairs and we are still putting our men and women in danger, and we are still spending money we don’t have. This looks more like an escalation than a draw-down to me!

The ongoing war in Iraq takes place against a backdrop of economic crisis at home, as fresh numbers indicate that our economic situation is as bad as ever, and getting worse! Our foreign policy is based on an illusion: that we are actually paying for it. What we are doing is borrowing and printing the money to maintain our presence overseas. Americans are seeing the cost of this irresponsible approach as our economic decline continues. Unemployed Americans have been questioning a policy that ships hundreds of billions of dollars overseas while their own communities crumble and their frustration is growing. An end to this type of foreign policy is way overdue.

A return to the traditional American foreign policy of active private engagement and non-interventionism is the only alternative that can restore our moral and fiscal health.

The Ten Commandments (Bible Study) series:

A pivotal point of the Ten Commandments is the fourth: "Remember [observe] the Sabbath day, to keep it holy" (Exodus 20:8-11; Deuteronomy 5:12-15). From this simple statement flows a stream of spiritual lessons and principles about God, humans and our potential. Disregarding the Sabbath is like throwing away the key to a treasure chest, ignoring a vital area of understanding that will open our minds to God and His purpose. The Sabbath is much more than a weekly day of rest. It is the one day each week that we devote totally to God, and thus it is a good regulator and barometer of our relationship with Him. The following study will rehearse the Bible's basic information on the Sabbath, and will hopefully spur us to deeper study.
1. Who made the Sabbath and when? Genesis 2:2-3; John 1:1-3. Is the Sabbath a "sign"? Exodus 31:12-17. For whom was the Sabbath made? Mark 2:27; Isaiah 56:2, 6-7.
Comment: It was Christ, as the God of the Old Testament, who actually created the Sabbath. It is a sign that identifies God's people just as a sign identifies a business or a street. Notice also that this covenant, made after the ratification of the Old Covenant, bound the Sabbath as a "perpetual covenant" upon God's people. Since the Sabbath has been in force from Creation, it is not just for the Jews, but for the foreigner and all mankind as well. All who keep the Sabbath properly are blessed.
2. What did God do on the seventh day of Creation that serves as an example of how we should keep the Sabbath? Genesis 2:2-3; Exodus 20:11; Deuteronomy 5:12. How can we keep the Sabbath holy? Exodus 16:23-30; Leviticus 23:3; Deuteronomy 5:13-14; Matthew 12:12.
Comment: Because God rested after six days of labor, the Sabbath is also our day of rest and a memorial of Creation. He wants us to remember, not only what He did in the physical creation, but also that His spiritual creation continues in us now. When God blessed and sanctified the seventh day, He made it holy, set apart for God's use! Only God can make a day holy, and He does this by putting Himself, through His Spirit, into it.
We are then instructed to "keep" it holy. These scriptures give a few examples of things God prohibits on His Sabbath: working, cooking, carrying burdens. God does not make a comprehensive list of "dos and don'ts" for us to follow. Instead, He gives us principles of what is proper and improper Sabbath behavior, and we then must use God's Spirit to decide our actions.
3. Are whole cities or countries blessed or cursed according to what the inhabitants do on the Sabbath? Jeremiah 17:21-27; Nehemiah 13:15-22.

Comment: Jeremiah warned the people of Judah that if the inhabitants of a city do business on the Sabbath, the whole city is cursed. When Nehemiah returned from Persia to Jerusalem after an absence of 7 years (c. 425 BC), he found the Judeans again breaking the Sabbath by carrying their burdens and selling their wares. Israelites repeatedly have a very short memory when it comes to keeping the Sabbath.
4. Did Jesus keep the Sabbath? Mark 1:21; Luke 4:16, 31; 6:6; 13:10; Matthew 12:5, 12. Who is Lord of the Sabbath? Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28; Luke 6:5. Immediately following Christ's death, did God conclusively show that Sunday is not the Sabbath? Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:1-2; Luke 23:54-56; 24:1.
Comment: As the Creator of the Sabbath (John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:16-18), Jesus is "Lord of the Sabbath." As a man, He showed us the intent of this commandment in numerous accounts recorded in the four gospels. Jesus gave His church an example of how the whole Christian way of life is to be lived (I John 2:6). We are to do as Christ did (I Peter 2:21-22).
5. Did the apostle Paul keep the Sabbath? Acts 13:14-16; 17:1-3. Did the early church keep the Sabbath? Acts 13:42-44; 16:13-15.
Comment: Christ set the Sabbath-keeping example for his apostles, and Paul, following His example, tells us we are to imitate him as he imitates Christ (I Corinthians 11:1). Paul preached to the Jews and Gentiles on the Sabbath because the Sabbath is for everyone, not just the Jews. These Gentiles were keeping the Sabbath in the synagogue with the Jews on the seventh day, not Sunday.
6. Is it a day to be loosed from bondage? Luke 13:11-17. Is the Sabbath a burden or a "delight"? Isaiah 58:13-14. Is it possible to receive the Holy Spirit without keeping the Sabbath? Acts 5:32.
Comment: God requires obedience to His commandments as a condition for receiving His Holy Spirit. When we keep the Sabbath, we show God by our action that we are worthy to receive it. If we keep the Sabbath properly, and work to improve our relationship with God, this holy time will be most valuable and a tremendous blessing each week!

Just keep the 10 Commandments?

Recently several of my senior neighbors and I were discussing religious differences. I commented whether Methodist, Catholic or Baptist, they all believe in the same basic beliefs: the Babylonian Mystery religious doctrines of "going to Heaven or Hell," Sunday over Sabbath, Christmas, Easter. They agreed everybody should "just keep the 10 Commandments."

Jesus did say we should keep the commandments, in spirit and in truth (Matthew 19:16-17). But neither Catholics or Protestants keep the commandments! They reject the plain truth of the Bible to keep their idolatrous traditions.

I asked my friends (who said we should "just keep the 10 Commandments") whether they were ready to stop keeping Sunday and start keeping the Sabbath - to "remember the Sabbath to keep it holy." Apparently the question caught them off guard as neither replied. How about you? Will you keep the commandments, so help you God, including the Fourth Commandment?

IRS SUED FOR DISCRIMINATION
AGAINST ORGANIZATIONS THAT DON’T SHARE ADMINISTRATION’S POSITIONS ON ISRAEL

Z STREET, a pro-Israel non-profit corporation, filed a lawsuit in federal court today charging that the IRS violated the organization’s First Amendment rights. The suit was filed after Z STREET was told by an IRS official that its application for tax-exempt status has been delayed because an IRS policy requires consideration of whether a group’s views on Israel differ from those of the current Administration.

“Not only is it patently un-American but it is also a clear violation of the First Amendment for a government agency to penalize an organization because of its political position on Israel or anything else,” said Z STREET president Lori Lowenthal Marcus, a former First Amendment lawyer.   “This situation is the same as if the government denied a driver’s license to people because they were Republicans or Democrats. It goes against everything for which our country stands.”

Z STREET filed for tax-exempt status in January of this year and, despite having met all of the requirements for grant of this status, the application has been stalled. An IRS agent told Z STREET’s lawyers that the application was delayed because of a Special Israel Policy that requires more intense scrutiny of organizations which have to do with Israel, in part to determine whether they espouse positions on Israel contrary to those of the current Administration.

Z STREET is a Zionist organization that proudly supports Israel’s right to refuse to negotiate with, make concessions to, or appease terrorists. Z STREET’s positions on Israel and, in particular, on the Middle East “peace process” differ significantly from those espoused by the Obama administration.

If Z STREET had tax-exempt status, its donors would be able to deduct contributions from their taxable income. The IRS's refusal to grant tax-exempt status to Z STREET has inhibited the organization‘s fundraising efforts, and therefore impeded its ability to speak and to educate the public regarding the issues that are the focus and purpose of Z STREET.

The lawsuit, Z STREET v. Shulman, Commissioner of Internal Revenue, was filed today in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Regardless of how often Obama's puppets attempt to play the American people for fools, repeating the big lie that Barack Hussein Obama's aides posted his birth certificate, a COLB is not a long form birth certificate! Such efforts to mislead have been exposed.

“In response to a direct question from WND, the Hawaii Department of Health refused to authenticate either of the two versions of President Obama’s short-form Certificate of Live Birth, or COLB, posted online – neither the image produced by the Obama campaign nor the images released by FactCheck.org" (Hawaii refuses to verify president's online COLBs).

Which hospital was Obama supposedly born in? Not a single hospital in Hawaii claims him as their own! Which doctor supposedly delivered him? These legitimate questions remain. When will responsible media address them? Obama has yet to come clean about his birth certificate. The president usurper must be called to an accounting!

Myth #1: King wanted only equal rights, not special privileges and would have opposed affirmative action, quotas, reparations, and the other policies pursued by today’s civil rights leadership.

This is probably the most repeated myth about King. Writing on National Review Online, There Heritage Foundation’s Matthew Spalding wrote a piece entitled "Martin Luther King’s Conservative Mind," where he wrote, "An agenda that advocates quotas, counting by race and set-asides takes us away from King's vision."

The problem with this view is that King openly advocated quotas and racial set-asides. He wrote that the "Negro today is not struggling for some abstract, vague rights, but for concrete improvement in his way of life." When equal opportunity laws failed to achieve this, King looked for other ways. In his book Where Do We Go From Here, he suggested that "A society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for him, to equip him to compete on a just and equal basis." To do this he expressed support for quotas. In a 1968 Playboy interview, he said, "If a city has a 30% Negro population, then it is logical to assume that Negroes should have at least 30% of the jobs in any particular company, and jobs in all categories rather than only in menial areas." King was more than just talk in this regard. Working through his Operation Breadbasket, King threatened boycotts of businesses that did not hire blacks in proportion to their population.

King was even an early proponent of reparations. In his 1964 book, Why We Can’t Wait, he wrote,

No amount of gold could provide an adequate compensation for the exploitation and humiliation of the Negro in America down through the centuries…Yet a price can be placed on unpaid wages. The ancient common law has always provided a remedy for the appropriation of a the labor of one human being by another. This law should be made to apply for American Negroes. The payment should be in the form of a massive program by the government of special, compensatory measures which could be regarded as a settlement in accordance with the accepted practice of common law.

Predicting that critics would note that many whites were equally disadvantaged, King claimed that his program, which he called the "Bill of Rights for the Disadvantaged" would help poor whites as well. This is because once the blacks received reparations, the poor whites would realize that their real enemy was rich whites.

A truly legitimate civil rights movement would see to it that the blacks return to Africa (where they belong) and where they can finally assume responsibility for themselves like a mature people. Instead they stay put here in the United States, the land of their real or imagined grievances, and continue to complain and agitate to shake down white America. Any irresponsible talk of reparations must be immediately rebuked by presenting the facts that once the United States subtracted what white America has foolishly given to black America they would owe us!

As Patrick Buchanan has written in "A brief for Whitey" - "Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream."

Abraham Lincoln recognized blacks will never be a part of the mainstream and it's past time we face this reality too or continue to suffer the consequences:

"I will say, then, that I AM NOT NOR HAVE EVER BEEN in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the black and white races---that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with White people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the White and black races which will ever FORBID the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the White race."
