how is it possible for man to go against the will of God? If God wants something to happen, don't you think that it is within his power to MAKE IT HAPPEN?

That doesn't mean God will prevent us from doing it, just like He doesn't prevent us from a host of other sins. His Word speaks of examples of leaders He didn't approve of but permitted.
They set up kings, but not by Me; They made princes, but I did not acknowledge them
